Episode 37: How Much Are You Living Life on Autopilot? 2022 Reflection

Folks, are you aware of how much you are living life on autopilot? Do you feel sometimes your life is running a recursive loop, kinda like groundhog day? Or perhaps you have same things in your life that always trigger your emotions? Have you ever paused to reflect why that is?

Man, this quote hits it home for me because I got a true taste of this meaning these past couple of months. In today's episode, we are going to explore how much you are living life on autopilot, and how to upgrade your SOS programming.  I'm going to share a series of events that happened in my life this year that triggered a breakthrough.   In today's episode, I will share:

  1. My reflection of 2022: the good, the bad, the unexpected.
  2. Personal Story: 1) Let there be Light, 2) Let there be Pain, 3) Let there be Awareness.
  3. How much of your life is running on autopilot? Consciously and subconsciously?
  4. Action steps to help you identify your autopilot programming that doesn't serve you well, and how to upgrade it!

[2:02] - Hi folks, welcome back to episode 37 of the Boom Vision podcast! As we're wrapping up 2022, and I contemplated for a while on what would be the most impactful topic to close out this year. The word that comes up is reflection.

And so when I think about this word, Reflection, what comes to mind is this series of unexpected events that happened this year, that led to my ah-ha moment earlier in December.

And so I want to share my story because I feel you can draw from my personal experience, as you reflect on what happened in your life this year.

[3:12] - Chapter 1: Let there be Light

[5:48] - Chapter 2: Let there be Pain

Belief: I will never walk in the dark, I will always have a light on to protect myself from getting hurt.

[8:51] Chapter 3: Let there be Awareness

[9:49] - 1st step is awareness

In pinpointing the exact moment, the pain and trauma I experienced during the summer, my belief creating a new program in my SOS, Subconscious Operating System. Having that awareness brought this belief and program to the surface, in my conscious mind.

[10:21] - 2nd step is acceptance

[12:14] - Main Takeaway: How much of your life is running on autopilot? From the things that you are aware of consciously, to the things that you are not aware of subconsciously? Do the current beliefs that you created when you felt pain or traumatic experience, does this belief serve you in where you want to go forward in life?

[13:50] - Action Steps: The CAL Method (shout out to Kim Yu!)

  1. C: Calming: Find a way to calm your mind so you can turn off your wind tunnel like I mentioned in the episode 2.
  2. A: Awareness: Bring awareness to what your body feels. Do you feel any pain or aches? Do you feel any negative emotions or areas of your body that feel stuck?
  3. L: Language: Asking questions from a place of curiosity and love: If you identify something that triggered you that day, ask yourself: Why does that trigger me so much? Where did it come from? Am I running on autopilot in areas of my life that really don't serve me in the present moment?

Folks, as we're heading into this holiday season, I invite you to reflect inwards on all that you accomplished this year, as well as things that may have gone unexpected for you.

Before you plan and map out your 2023 goals, I feel it's helpful to reflect what you're doing well, as well as bringing awareness to the things you want to do better.

By bringing more awareness of your autopilot programs that may not serve you well going forward, by accepting what has happened and empowering yourself to a new belief You are in essence giving yourself the space and grace to allow your experience of your past pain and trauma to heal.  YOU'VE GOT THIS!
