Welcome to episode 51 of the Boom Vision podcast! I am delighted to share today interview with my friend, Odeya Nini. I connected with Odeya through Ruby.

As a brief background:

Odeya Nini is a Los Angeles based interdisciplinary vocalist and composer. Her solo vocal work is an investigation of resonance, extended vocal techniques, performance practices, and pure energy, exploring the relationship between mind and body and the various sonic landscapes it can yield. Her work has been presented at venues and festivals across the US and internationally, such as The LA Phil, Merkin Concert Hall, The Broad Museum, and MONA from Los Angeles to Tel Aviv, Australia, Mongolia, Madagascar and Vietnam.

Her performance of I See You was included in the The New Yorker’s 10 notable performances of 2021. She is the founder of Free The Voice and leads vocal sound meditation, workshops and retreats exploring the transformative and healing qualities of the embodied voice.

[17:10] (BY) Tell me a little more about the initial encounters of someone coming up to you and asking, do you teach?
