Welcome to episode 30 of the Boom Vision podcast! Folks, I'm excited to share today's interview with Karen Bemmes.  I've known Karen for almost a year now, when we started together in the same mastermind group in the SPI Pro community that we're a part of.  In getting to know Karen and her passion of DiSC Personality assessments, I just knew she would be a wonderful addition to our Boom Vision podcast to shed more light on self awareness, and awareness of the people around you.

As a brief background: It was nearly 30 years ago, when Karen Bemmes sat straight up in bed while reading a book called Positive Personality Profiles.  She looked at her husband and said, “I understand our sister-in-law for the first time in my life.” You see, she never quite “clicked” with her sister-in-law but learning about personalities changed that. Because of that book, she and her sister-in-law do “click”, and they’ve stayed close for 30+ years. Since then, she has used what learned in that book to improve every area of her life, and now helps others improve their personal and professional life while making it all feel simple, easy and natural. You can learn about all the ways Karen can help you on her website, Moving Toward Better.

So without further ado, here's Karen:

[4:57] - Karen's origin story.

[14:25] - (BY) DiSC Personality Test: For my audience that may be new to DiSC, what is it? What has been the biggest impact that DiSC had in your life, personally or professionally?

[18:00] (BY) Who do you primarily work with? Executives, entrepreneurs, etc.?

(KB) Host of all the above. One of my greatest loves is entrepreneurial couples that are female driven. Driven wife and supportive husband, 2 of the most misunderstood groups in the world.

[21:13] - (BY) Are there any major breakthroughs, moments or stories that your clients have experienced that you can share after you did a DiSC assessment with them?

(KB) Story of mommy blogger that went from 4 figure business to 7 figures within 1 year.

[24:44] - (BY) What's the biggest roadblock, when it comes to self awareness or lack of self awareness, that you find your clients have that, after having a better understanding of their DiSC Profile, has helped them overcome that hurdle?

[31:21] -  (BY) What advice can you share that may be going through that imposter syndrome or fear of being in the spotlight?

[42:43] - (BY) Any book recommendations?

[44:53] - (BY) If the DeLorean was real in that you can travel back in time, what is one thing you would tell yourself if you had an ability to travel back 10 years ago and share with your younger self?

(KB) It's never to late to be everything you want to be.

[48:07] - (BY) Where can our listeners find you?

Karen's information:

[54:30] - Folks, I hope you all enjoyed today's interview with Karen! The main takeaway that I got from today's interview reminds me of a Stephen R. Covey quote, and that is: "Every human being has four endowments—self awareness, conscience, independent will, and creative imagination. These give us the ultimate human freedom: The power to choose, to respond, to change." - Stephen R. Covey.

What I appreciate about today's interview is that something like a DiSC Personality assessment can bring more self awareness to who I am, how I'm wired, and how I like to be understood. And when you combine that to being curious and conscience of how the people around you wants to be understood that can truly help give you that sense of freedom and power to choose, respond and change.
